If you currently live or have ever lived in an apartment complex or walk-up, you should know that the key to a good neighborly relationship is to be aware of the space you take up in a shared building and act accordingly.

Ideally, we'd all have our own 10-acre chunk of land that could drown out all loud noises, but that's not the reality of most people's circumstances. Understanding that it might not be possible for you to host a loud party is just a part of life in an apartment complex, especially one that regularly enforces quiet hours. If the roles were reversed, you'd probably want your neighbors to be mindful of how loud they're being at one o'clock in the morning, right?

In this next story, a 29-year-old "party animal" throws a rager in his parents' apartment. This guy wasn't abiding by the quiet hour rules the complex enforces, so a fellow tenant calls the cops on him. Instead of the man's parents taking accountability for their adult son's behavior, as their names are the ones on the apartment, they instead shame everyone for tattling. Their reasoning?
